Man trying to kiss partner ‘fell’ and bit her — twice
A Kalgoorlie-Boulder man who told the court he was trying to kiss his girlfriend but drunkenly fell and bit her face — twice — has been placed on a community-based order for domestic violence.
Troy Francis Ward, 21, appeared in Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on Monday where he plead guilty to aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm against his 18-year-old partner on November 11.
The court was told the pair had been drinking during the day, but got into an argument over the possibility of ending their relationship before the woman went to bed.
Police prosecutor Sen. Const. Michelle Heales said it was about 2am when Ward stood over the woman who was lying in bed, grabbed her by the collar then bit each of her cheeks and part of her lip.
However, defence lawyer Elvis Stokes told the court the man was attempting to kiss his partner when he drunkenly fell and accidentally bit her cheek.
